Eligibility for the Post of Tindel:
The candidate should have passed 8th
One should have 10 years of service on a seagoing vessel with 5 years experience in independent handling of mechanized craft fitted with auxiliary sails.
The candidate should have a certificate of competency for Inland master 1st class or
One can have a certificate of service.
Eligibility for the Post of Senior Deckhand:
The candidate should be 8th
One should have 5 years service on sea vessel with 2 years in helmsman and seamanship work.
The candidate should fishery training certificate.
It is desirable to have matriculation passed.
Eligibility for the Post of Seaman:
The candidate should have passed 10th
There should be 3 years experience in a seagoing mechanized vessel with two years in helmsman and seamanship work.
One should have a certificate of competency as ’Mate of fishing vessel’ issued by Marine Mercantile Department.
Eligibility for the Post of Greaser:
One should be a 10th standard pass.
There should be 3 years experience in a seagoing mechanized vessel on main and auxiliary machinery maintenance.
One should have a certificate of competency as ‘Mate of fishing vessel’ issued by Marine Mercantile Department.
