Educational Requirements: Master’s degree in Fine Arts or History of Arts & Criticism or Museology from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualifications: (i) Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)/Master’s Degree in Public Administration from a recognized University (ii) Administrative experience in Establishment and Accounts matters in a large Museum/Gallery.
Experience Requirements: 5 years curatorial experience in a large Museum/Gallery.
Eligibility Criteria:
(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or (ii) with 5 years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in the Pay Band-3. Rs 15600-39100 with grade pay of Rs. 5400 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; or (iii) with six year’s service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in the Pay Band -2, Rs. 9300-34800/- with grade pay of Rs.4800 or equivalent in the parent cadre/ department
Responsibilities / Job Description: The National Gallery of Modern Art, a premier museum of India with a rich and exquisite collections of contemporary paintings, under the Ministry of Culture is seeking qualified candidates for the posts of Curator, at New Delhi. The incumbents will be responsible for looking after the restoration work of art works on paper and new media, conduct periodical checks of the art works and initiate preventive and curative measures. He will also prepare condition report of art works for the exhibitions organized by NGMA and those received from other institutions/countries. In addition, he will also impart training on restoration to art students and render consultancy to other government organizations. In addition to the above, he will also assist the Deputy Director (Programme) in his specific areas of work.

General Instructions:
Note 1: Period of Deputation (ISTC) including period of deputation (ISTC) in another excadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed 4 years.
Note 2: Maximum age limit for appointment on deputation (ISTC) shall not exceed 56 as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
Note 3: For the purpose of appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to the 1st January-2006/the date from which the revised pay structure based on the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendation has been extended, shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding grade pay/pay scale extended based on the recommendations of the Pay Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre-revised scale of pay into one grade with a common Grade Pay/ Pay Scale and where this benefit will extend only for the post(s) for which that Grade Pay /Pay Scale is the normal replacement grade without any upgradation.
